Benidorm or Benedorm located about 60km east of the Alicante International Airport, and local time is +1 hour GMT. Benidorm is popular with tourists from northern Europe, especially those from the UK, as in 1950's and 60's saw the start of tourist development along the Costa Blanca. It will spend about 2-2.1 hours to fly from most UK airports. Your own Benidorm hotel is often a good starting point at night. About 4 million visitors each year are testament to the resorts amazing organization and facilities here. With more than 1000 Restaurants, over 30 Discos and more clubs, shops, pubs and bars, Benidorm really does offers nearly everything needed for a busy nightlife.
Old Benidorm city center meanwhile lives on in the narrow streets near the castle, not much left from the old center, where English-owned pubs and bars have long been part of the scenery. Benidorm offers two main choices of beaches: the playa de poniente - a touch quieter, has no rocks and has the added bonus of great sunsets, and the shorter Playa de Levante (Sunrise Beach) which can get very crowded in high season and is backed by a broad promenade, cafes, bars and other eateries. For the best views of the coastline, you can take a boat ride from Benidorm to Calpe in summer. Thanks to the mountains which surround the town, Benidorm has a special micro-climate all year. The mild Benidorm weather in winter even never go below 15° C, and in summer, the number is about 26° C, it makes the area ideal not just for vacations.
